About this event

Quality Improvement in an Integrated Physical and Mental Health Setting

Feb 28 - April 17, 2022

This Foundational course provides participants with an introduction to quality improvement methods and tools, including the Model for Improvement, Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) Cycle, Fishbone Diagram, and Process Mapping. Participants practice applying the quality improvement methods and tools individually and in team based exercises/assignments. The goal is that participants will be able to apply the methods and tools in their own collaborative practice settings, by identifying opportunities for improvement in integrated physical and mental health and implementing small tests of change.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants can claim 7.0 MOC credits.

Who Should Register?

All healthcare teams and providers (i.e. nurses, physicians, social workers, occupational and physical therapists etc.), as well as managers and administrators in primary care, hospital, long-term care and community care settings who are working with patients and families to address complex care issues, with a particular focus on co-existing mental and physical needs may register.

About the Medical Psychiatry Collaborative Care Certificate (MP3C)

MP3C is a University of Toronto accredited Continuing Professional Development Certificate program and has been approved as a Certificate of Completion in Continuing Professional Development for 39.0 hours.

All MP3C events (courses, workshops) are individually accredited for Section 1 credits and Mainpro+ hours, and can be taken based on interest without pursuing the certificate program.
